Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, north of the Côte-Chalonnaise in Burgundy. The estate was bought by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine in 1971, and has been managed since 2001 by their nephew, Pierre de Benoist. Since 1986, organic farming methods have been developed within the vineyard. The estate has several ‘climats’ in the communes of Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Santenay which are planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Montpalais Rully Premier Cru comes from young Chardonnay vines cultivated since 2016.
Colour: This Rully displays an intense golden yellow color with bright and luminous reflections. Its color reflects its maturity and richness.
Aroma: The aromatic bouquet is complex and rich. Intense aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as pear and peach, harmoniously blend with subtle notes of white flowers, honey, and hazelnut. Beautiful mineral nuances, typical of the terroir, can also be perceived.
Palate: Velvety and smooth texture. The fruity flavors generously unfold, highlighting the sweetness and richness of the white fruits. Juicy pear and ripe peach are enhanced by delicate minerality, bringing freshness and liveliness. Notes of honey and hazelnut blend harmoniously, adding depth.
